Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is an old Indian spice with a powerful medicinal compound called Curcumin. Turmeric is believed to have anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties. Extensive studies have established the role of Turmeric/Curcumin in controlling a number of ailments including Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and osteoarthritis.
